The Hawg Wired amp is only 120W which most likely means 60 per channel. The J&M amp is 250W or 125 per channel...

That was enough to make me look in a different direction.

One thing I do know...... Stock speakers are junk.

Grandpa had a better radio in the barn, and that was AM.
You saying the man had J&M and you did not like the sound?

I didn't like the way his system sounded. But that may have just been his system. You gotta remember, their is a lot of variables. Radio station vs CD vs MP3.

I have also heard some shitty sounding CD's. Depending on if they have been dubbed.

My point is, Their is a lot of variables.... do your homework, don't get in a hurry, and you will be happy with the choice you make.

Good Luck.

I will start off by saying the stock HD speakers suck. What a joke they are and the magnet is about the size of a 50 cent piece. I had on my 07 the hog tunes front speakers with their amp. It was night and day. I have 2 friends with the new J&M 7 1/4 with no amp and they ROCK...Like them alot more than my hogtunes. On my Limited will prolly go with the J&M plus the amp.
Like ANYTHING..How fast ya wanna go,how loud ya want it ..It comes down to $$$$$ Hell guys are putting 6x9 in the saddlebags amps everywhere..It's crazy but like I said.. How loud How much $$$

All I want for Christmas is some new Bob Woods Cams & a Fatcat

I copied and pasted this right off of the J&M website, so correct me if I'm wrong.....

Drew, to complete the comparison, the HW is rated at 4 ohm impedance; the J&M (if it's the Arc 125.2 clone it appears to be) would be 70W at 4 ohm impedance. So, at 4 ohm impedance the HW is 60W/channel; and, the J&M is 70W.

Also, you mentioned the J&M Youtube video; frankly I was disappointed with the amateurish technique reflected in that video. There are far more professional audio tests that are readily available to J&M to represent a good comparison of products, and graphical ways to represent sound other than the crude use of a youtube video with a decible meter.

Also, my experience has been that what I hear listening to my bike parked has virtually zero relevance to what I hear riding with wind noise, Rinehart Trut Duals, 3/4 helmet, etc. Consequently, the youtube video had zero relevance for me and to the extent it was intended to suggest what a rider would hear going down the road, it was misleading.

Here's an example of what J&M could do to compare speakers:

http://www.hogtunes.com/techzone_fil..._speakers1.pdf

I'm not knocking J&M as I have owned some of their products and haven't had a problem with them. And I'm not an audiophile who spends time reading graphs and spending lots of $$$ on bike audio. I am plenty satisfied with the HK radio, Arc 125.2 amp, '11 CVO speaker boxes in the fairing lowers, Infinity Reference 6.5" speakers in fairing and lowers, and Hogtunes Hogpod.

You may be right. I never checked their web-site, I just e-mailed Dr. V-Twin which is where I purchased the speakers, and here is a copy of their reply. Maybe he made a mistake, I don't know.

Yes, J & M is exactly the same as the arc amp, but it's set-up to run on 2 ohm, and the speakers are 2 ohm, so you're rated at 125 per channel. I believe the arc speakers are set-up for 4 ohm, so that's a lot of difference.

Man I hope I dont start a fight here LOL LOL.
I am a top 5 dealer for Hawg Wire. I used to carry others but no longer!! Just Hawg Wire!!!!!!
1. Customer support excellent. Never an issue...
2. USA made Amps no China made hybrid system.
3. They dont over sell there product. And stand behind 100%..

I sell avg 6 systems a week if not more. In 2 years I have never had a amp go bad or replaced one. Yes I have had a cross over go bad or a speaker. But an amp Never Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats BS when some can say they blow up all the time.....That makes me LOL LOL LOL
Yes they are not cheap but you also get what you pay for and that is excellent product. AMPS USA MADE not made in China.....

I have sold more speakers because people call me I would like a Hawg Wire Amp But I have brand XX speakers and I tell them they will not handle this amp>>>> A few weeks later they call me back. Can I get a set of speakers at 60% volume they vibrate and sound bad.

And I just replaced a 2011 cvo system with a full Hawg Wire system. All I can say wow wow wow. 300 watts front to rear system.
He just put his boom audio on ebay......
Give me a call I am giving up to 20% off and will beat anyones price on full systems. And if you tell me you have a brand XX system and want to upgrade I will give you even a better deal but you have to prove you have that system. I stand 100% behind these systems will not sell any China amp. Never......
Thanks and ride safe.......and have a Great Christmas I hope Santa brings everything you want....
