I've read plenty of comments here giving good reviews on the sundowner seat. But I've seen very few commenting on comfort for the passenger. I still have the stock seat on my '06 Road Glide, and am looking for more comfort for the wife, and my self for that matter, but more so for her. She doesn't complain much, but I know that stock passenger pillion isn't very comfortable. Thinking about giving it to her for Christmas, LOL. What do you think?
I have the sundowner on my FatBob. Wife loves it can and she can ride till I get to sore. It does give me a slight different riding position. When I ride by myself i put my stock seat back on cause I sit lower and I dont care for the look of the sundowner when she's not on the back.

That's what I will probably do when riding solo. I also have an adjustable riders back rest I use when solo.
Sundowner seat is much wider for the passenger. My wife hated he oem seat and says that the sundowner worked better for her. Have since changed out to a Corbin and she also likes it..
I had an older style FLTR seat like yours on my '08 RoadGlide with a passenger backrest and my wife did pretty well on it for some long trips. Her favorite is the stock FLHTCU seat that's on my bike right now.For a brief time I had a new Sundowner on it but quickly sold it to another forum member because I missed the solid way the stock Ultra seat's step up felt for lower back support.
While the Sundowner was on she said it was definitely better than the RoadGlide's seat and would probably be as comfortable as the Ultra's once it was broke in.

Reason: error
Before I put the Sundowner on my wife couldn't ride more than a hundred miles before she started bitching. Now with it on, we had several 400-500 mile days going to and from Sturgis and she still complains after that many miles but normal riding she's all good with. I believe the Sundowner passenger pillion is about 3 or 4 inches wider than stock so it should help the passenger. For me (the driver) I didn't notice much difference.
