The stock shield with stock seat on my 2011 is just about perfect. I'd like a better looking shield with a recurve that is the same height as the stock shield.

If i were you, i'd design one that is exactly the same height as the stock fltru shield. Offer is in a couple different tints and have a recurve. I'd buy one in an instant.
+1 on what he said

14" Windvest. I'm 5' 11".

Wish I'd gone with a 16".

Default RG windshields

Seems the Windvest worked out the best out of the several i tried. Sent a few Cee Baileys back and ended up getting a SERG Road Glide one from Joe at Cee Baileys rather than my money back. It is now in the not used windshields pile and i don't even want to think about the money Cee Baileys got out of me with the shipping back and forth. If you get a big enough Cee Baileys it will work but they are butt ugly. I found that you will either find one that looks good or one that works can't seem to get both out of one Shield. You need the lowers before you do the windshield game. Windvest gives the best protection out of quit a few that you look over from my windshield adventures.

I currently am looking for a 14 or 15" recurve shield. The stock one is a good height for me, but need to kick the air up higher.

I believe that all of the new RG Ultra guys are now understanding what we've ment by needing a good "touring" windshield. This topic has been beat every direction with no real answer to the buffeting issue. I have a clearview Med. and it works well but its not perfect as far as buffeting goes. I am coming to terms that all of that buffeting is not coming from the upper part of the fairing, but the lower part. I have the HD lowers and they helped tremendously. There is some one selling wings that go on the fairing on the RG.org forum that are supposed to be the final fix for wind buffeting. I am considering buying these things and using them just for touring. That being said, I personally don't think any windshield, tall or raked, is going to eliminate all buffeting issues. There are so many shapes and sizes available now that its hard to make a decission. I think the biggest problem is not enough R & D into the whole wind buffeting matter when a mfr. designs a new windshield they should look at the underside of the fairing also. A chin spoiler that wraps the underside of the fairing maybe? Just remember, its not as much as the wind as it is the buffeting issue at speed on the interstate. TMI?

I'm 5'8" and use a 12" Windvest.
It's perfect and I use it everywhere including 5000 mile long trips.

You can keep all those other windshields.
I don't want anything that looks like it was melted in the Sun on my bike. Even if it blocked all the wind from everywhere.

A man has to have a little pride. Heck, I already ride a Road Glide. Why go uglier?

I'm 6" 1", 34" inseam. I have a Clearview XL on mine. I don't mind looking thru the shield as the wind protection is a bigger priority, especially in the colder weather.
For me the stock was too short. I plan to get a second shield, 1 or 2 inches taller than stock (that I can still see over) with recurve.
