On my 09 RG I have the 12" kw. My next shield will be 14-15". Windvest and CeeBailey are at the top of the list, but if you come out with one in that size I would consider it as well. I like my shields Dark BTW.
I have the 14" Windvest and the XL Clearview. The WV looks better and will suffice for everything except long road trips. If I'm going across country I'll put the Clearview on. It's a lot bigger and offers more protection.
The 15-16-17" Cee Bailey SSC and the Medium & Tall Windvest windscreens seem to be the hot ticket for RG riders right now, when speaking of "tall" units.
It's too bad someone doesn't have access to a wind tunnel to help create the definative windshield for RG's that actually worked based on windflow at speed.
I have a +2" Clearview, and need another inch at least.
However, the taller shields put more strain on the screws holding in the shield. I had to change out to bigger screws as my shield became loose after 60,000 miles.
I like a taller windshield. Had a Clearview +1 on my 07 and was perfect for long trips. Went to a Windvest 14" and it was a bit too short. I see that WV is now making taller shields.
The stock shield with stock seat on my 2011 is just about perfect. I'd like a better looking shield with a recurve that is the same height as the stock shield.
If I were you, I'd design one that is exactly the same height as the stock FLTRU shield. Offer is in a couple different tints and have a recurve. I'd buy one in an instant.
