I understand...my tuner was previously having troubles with getting the CFRs tuned on the dyno so I eventually swapped out slip-ons. Cary has been working with me to figure out the problem and I was just stating that the problems I was having (stutter & dip) are gone with these test pipes he sent me (w/o going on the dyno). I haven't ruled out putting it back on the dyno.
Thats good he is helping you out. I have searched through numerous websites and everyone seems to have issues with getting them tuned. Your not alone
I don't know man, and I could be wrong, but does anybody else get a weird feeling from this thread? It starts off with a dude buying knock-offs from ebay ... then some dude chimes in about how he hates knock-offs, and emailed CFR ... then it's explained that the CFR's the dude USED to have weren't "tunable", so he got rid of them ... THEN ... out of nowhere comes the "white knight" Cary to GIVE the dude another set of pipes to try ... then the dude puts the knock-offs up for sale ... then he says he's getting a set of the new release pipes ... supposedly at a DEEP discount, from Cary at CFR! Whew! Sounds kind of ... strange! I'm thinking, maybe somebody just got PLAYED!

Ride safe!
LMFAO
You sound so paranoid that I'm surprised you even ride a motorcycle!
If you read back some of my post, you'll see I've had an ongoing issue with the CFRs but love their looks and sound. I never wanted to get rid of them. I changed out my CFRs, got the bike tuned and left it alone for a while. I finally pursued the CFRs again just recently. There's another recent thread on here (that got buried) about how I gotta have that CFR sound back. In the meantime, I started emailing Cary about what I can do to get them to work...even talked about Kelly at KMS Performance (if you have been following CFR on here and/or my dilemma with them, you'll know who I'm talking about). While I was going back and forth with Cary, I came across the knock offs and said what the heck. Told Cary about them and he told me about the company making them. Said he would rather see me with his pipes...and decided to give me a deal. He knows all about my 2 different engine builds, the 4-5 different exhaust set-ups, many trips (8 hrs one-way) to get the bike tuned...basically how much money I've spent to get this bike where I want it. He decided to be one of the COOL ones and help me and not charge me for everything. I'm nothing more than a customer he decided to go out of his way for.
There you know the story.
You should not stay paranoid, you'll live shorter!
Oh, and about the knock-offs...why wouldn't I want to sell them new vice used? I had no need for them after talking to Cary. The new buyer knows everything about them and is happy with the purchase.

Actually, they are not exact replicas of the CFRs. And, there are certain reasons for the level of involvement he and his lawyers are in with the other guys. But, it's his business and not my place to say.
About the tuning...well, he can fix that too. We are REAL close with fixing that problem on my bike. I'm running a set of CFRs right now...I do not have a stutter or a dip. And that's without a dyno.
I just installed a set of these knock off CFRs on my 07 Road king . I honestly cant tell the difference in the looks but i will tell you my buddy has a set of CFRs on his street glide and the knock offs sound better than the cfrs !!! he came to hear them after i installed them he was absolutely blown away . How did they sound different? Was one louder or deeper than the other? Also how do the knockoffs compare to your Rineharts?
