A better question to ask is, "Why did Bry sell the CFR's to begin with"?
Yeah, maybe. That's why I emailed CFR to inform them. Anyway, patent or not, I like originals, not imitations.
I believe Bry sold his real CFRs because he couldn't perfectly tune his bike with them.
Unless these are advertised as CFRs (which would be counterfeit) it's hardly against the law to imitate another's product.
The "megaphone" styled exhaust is hardly new... Maybe the original inventors should be mad at the CFR dude?
If I can find the inventors email I'm going to send them a link to the CFR site...
I don't get it, sorry.

Precisely...everything is a knock off of something else in a sense.
Whats that going to say if he can tune the knock offs? I have heard a few people say they are having tough times tuning CFR's. However other swear by them with no problems

End of discussion for me. I won't buy knock-offs, it's not my philosophy. Again, I don't blame the buyers, I blame the sellers.
I emailed CFR, it's their problem, not mine. I have CFRs and my bike runs great and sounds great, and I know several owners who are as happy as I am.

Thanks for telling us all AGAIN what your philosophy is. Very informative but no one cares.
This went funny...QUICK! My guess is...these were made by Cary and AMC bought them. They either requested a smaller baffle or Cary made them like that and wasn't happy so he didn't put the CFR badge on them. Companies do this ALL the time...especially in the electronics world. This is a hunch and I don't know for sure because I have not asked Cary. I wouldn't be to upset with AMC, they are a legit company and know the laws...wouldn't be selling them if it was illegal or even unethical (again...just a guess, I could be wrong).
For less than $200, I wanted to check them out. If I keep them is another story. I did have CFRs in the past and couldn't get them tuned just right. But, I didn't try everything and gave up. I miss the way my bike sounded with the CFRs so I'm gonna try a few things and see if I can get them to tune properly.
