Sounds like you got a killer deal then, wish I had seen that auction! While I have heard great things about CFRs and want to try them I don't think that they are nearly popular enough that someone else would go through the cost and effort to try and make exact replica copies. I'm sure I would see Rinehart knockoffs first...

We'll see how they work out. But, I'm willing to bet I'll be buying another set of CFRs too.
This went funny...QUICK! My guess is...these were made by Cary and AMC bought them. They either requested a smaller baffle or Cary made them like that and wasn't happy so he didn't put the CFR badge on them. Companies do this ALL the time...especially in the electronics world. This is a hunch and I don't know for sure because I have not asked Cary. I wouldn't be to upset with AMC, they are a legit company and know the laws...wouldn't be selling them if it was illegal or even unethical (again...just a guess, I could be wrong).
For less than $200, I wanted to check them out. If I keep them is another story. I did have CFRs in the past and couldn't get them tuned just right. But, I didn't try everything and gave up. I miss the way my bike sounded with the CFRs so I'm gonna try a few things and see if I can get them to tune properly.
You going back up to Hayward or did you find someone closer? Hope your doing well man.

Oh, and to contradict myself, here are those Rinehart knockoffs I hadn't seen before:
Hey Zach, what's up? I'm not sure...I might venture back up there, I trust Bob...he's one hella tuner that's for sure.
Yeah, I'm doing well. Retiring from the military here soon...things are good!
I hear you. Didn't know you were military. Thanks for what you do. Congrats on your retirement. If you find yourself on a nice long retirement ride up this way over the summer, the lunch and drinks are on me.
I had a pair of CFRs. Judging by the pics, these look exactly like CFRs right down to the end caps and rivets. My guess is these come from the same plant where Carey Foss had them made for his Company. I also ditched mine, for low end stutter (Exhaust reversion) that could not be tuned out.... A Muffler with some back pressure corrected it. I do miss that sound too....
