Ok here we go ......Ive got a little coin saved up....06 Street glide....Reinhardt/0034 Hq cam, black ops lifters,sert.. 90hp/90tq .lookin for more... still an 88".so what do I do now...? have about 3500 to spend...don't do my own wrenching on Engine parts.Would like to pull a small trailer for camping and 2 up next summer.Would the money be better spent on a 6 speed trans, different cams ,head work...or save up for the 120r....let me know what you think....no warranty.........if I go bigger than 98" i'll need to split the cases........
I'd go with a 98" BB, a mild P&P on the heads & maybe a cam with a little more lift. You don't say if you've replaced the cam chain tensioners or not but if you haven't that would be on the list also. A BB should run about $5-600 & P&P around $3-400, that's not including the R&R labor. If you haven't already done the SE camplate & tensioner upgrade that would add another $4-500. The cams you have aren't all that bad so that would be last on my list, fi you can find a good indy to do the build I would think it would run you about $4-800 depending on whether you do the SE camplate or cams. That gives you a ballpark range for an upgrade, I don't think the 6spd is worth it, at least until you've done the engine.
The 120r won't fit in your frame, sorry to tell you. You're either going to have to be happy with a built 98, or pull it out and split the cases. Or buy a Jims motor (even more money).
Been talkin with T-Man he said to do a stage 2 98"....just heard that the original (98") builds with the Nakasial (sp )coated cylenders had some issues with excess oil usage,he is running a special at 2200 stage 2 heads and 590,600,620 cam.Looks to make good hp/tq if I keep my Reinhardt duels I just don't know what to do....looking at a reliable upgrade.
Well just looked at my numbers they are 88.09/90.02.....not bad for an 88"...got 33,500 on it now....tensioners looked good when cams went in....8000 miles ago.Not going to sell her so I thought a motor upgrade would give me a little more to lug the trailer and stuff around better. With the 98" i should see 103/110 even with the Reinhardt duals.....just asking for some help as to what would you do with the old 06 Street Glide........and NO I cant give it to anybody.
