Default Chrome or Black Handlebars

As Many of you may have read I have been looking for a set of handlebars for my Road King. Well I decided on the the Wild Ones 502's 12.5 inch apes.

I'm planning on adding several black peices to the bike in the future. I've already added the street glide style black saddle bag latches(Not Pictured) and do plan to add the rear fender lower valance with light.

My problem is I can't make up my mind on wether to go with black handlebars or chrome. I don't plane on changing out the black controls other than adding black mirrors and levers.

Also this choice also effects the cables I buy, either the Black Pearl or Polished Stainless, of course the stainless is coated.

I do run a fairing most if the time and yes it is black also.

I also need to confirm my cable length, some say +4 other say +6.

So, Take a look at my bike pictured below and tell me what you think.

I stayed with chrome bars and had my switch housings and levers powdered coated. I like a mix of black and chrome myself. Thats just my 2 cents for whatever its worth. Good luck with what ever you decide.

I went with black bars, black pearl cables. I'm slowly replacing with black. I'll keep the motor pieces chrome and the exhaust, but the rest will be black.

From your pictures above I say Chrome, I'm a huge fan of Black but my first thought looking at your bike was Chrome. I don't think Black would suck if you went that way, just seems to work with what you have already.

As a guy with a painted black inner fairing and black handlebars I'd vote for chrome.

Black handlebars tend to disappear behind a black inner fairing. I like the contrast of chrome on black better.

(I have a custom painted inner fairing scheduled to be done soon that will definitely make my black handlebars pop).

So Chrome bars, what about the cables, black or stainless.

If you are doing chrome bars, I would do stainless cables...

Exactly what I was thinking, too. Chrome and stainless cables.
