Hey BB06flhx,
We mount the switch under left side of seat towards the engine. See photo
Jack goes under the frame of bike, we use a craftsman motorcycle lift, about 80 dollars at sears.
Thanks for the questions, and again thanks bryan.
Tony
switch goes on the frame plate in front of the batt and right behind the rear jug...altho today i'm goin to the switch store and gettin me a rocker to fit in the dash just like the stock ones....once you move the harness where you can work it goes on quick...most of the time was spent in solderin wires
it took me an hour real time(i was goofin around and smokin cigs)...took another half hour to do the shocks and it shoulda only took 10 mins tops
do the shocks first on a frame lift...put the lift under the tranny and on the frame
I started mine last night. I dont think my will be as easy as I have the cruise control and I elected to do the compressor under the battery tray. It was a real son of a gun to get the tray out of the bike. There is a screw in the bottom of the tray through the back fender and really hard to get to because of the rear tire. It is a Torx bit and you dont have enough room to get a socket and ratchet unless you remove tire. I had to take the Torx bit out of the socket part and use a 1/4 wrench on it to get it looseed. I can hardly wait to put it back in. Then the battery tray is a real pain to get out as well. I will try to gat the compressor and valve mounted tonight or tomorrow night. I hope I can get the tray back in ok with all of that mounted to it. I will keep you updated. I think maybe I should have went with the other compressor in the hole in front of the battery.
I did get the shocks mounted ok other then the eye of the shock hitting on the quick detachable sissy bar mounts. I didnt grind away as Bryan did because since it all moves together as an assembly I didnt think it would hurt anything. I will look at this a little closer as well. I will keep you guys posted and try to take some pics as well. If you have a cruise control model and elect for the under battery mount it will take much longer and maybe a little more skill then the procedure that Brian did.
Nice post Bryan and it reall looks good. Thanks for your time and pics.
If anyone has done one with cruise and under the battery tray can you give me any tips you may have.
This is a very nice system with some qaulity looking parts for what little I paid for it and cant wait to get Draggin.
Bryan,
The 3M tape that you are using, is it the same tape that is used for attaching automotive trim? I have a roll from years ago and was just wondering if I should try it or just bite the bullet and buy new. Where did you get your tape?
My Draggin Bagger kit is on the UPS truck and being delivered on Friday. Now if I can just convince the wife that I need those new wheels...hmmmmmm....
