Can I just put a set of vance & hines slip on's Exhaust System without a new A/C and remapping my FI system? I want a little more sound without breaking the bank. Thanks for you input
Sure.... and if your Touring bike is a 2010 or 2011, then that's ALL you'll get- a little sound. Those models come with a catalytic converter in the headpipe, so slip-ons are way less effective.
If it's a 2009 or older, you'll probably like the difference it makes in the sound. The bike will still be lean (hot), however.
If I went a ture stage 1 my bike would run cooler then?

I went with the V&H true dual head pipes , stage 1 and slip on mufflers. A friend of mine did this on his new limited last year to get rid of the heat and his mileage jumped up 4 MPG and run like a different bike. He was very happy so I figured I'd do the same. I only have 300 on my RG now but it sure runs good and I got 39 MPG on the very first tank od fuel. It will open up that exhaust and I think you will like the sound of whatever muffler you pick. Good Luck!

Dont think so. The canned maps from HD are still epa compliant which means lean. From what I have read you would need a dyno tune to change air fuel ratio to drop heat. Like I said I'm no wrench just going by what I have been reading. I skipped the canned maps and went straight to the dyno. oh and cammed 103.

A stage 1 with a PCV will make it run cooler. Fuel moto sells them and will put a map in it before it ships to suit your mods.
