No quick release on it that I can see. The **** on the left is for adjusting the angle...I think

On my TomTom I used a RAM mount that the ball mounted to the left-hand control-switch pod. Worked well.

Dont use a suction cup; you're asking for trouble. Go to www.mountguys.com Ram mounts are cheap and work great. Usually they have a 10% off sale; if not you can use code prior5 for a 5% deal. Great company.

Here's a couple pics of my setup.

Now, here is the link to my DIY post.

I did have issues with the suction mount holding to the windshield. Its a tad too rounded for it. All I did was utilized the plate they give you with the GPS. Its a sticky back and provides a flat surface for it to stick. All you see from the front is a circle (no different than if you had the GPS suctioned directly to it.)

I have been on the highway at 80+ mph and have never had issues with this setup.

I had it handlebar mounted before and this is SO much better! Its not in your line of site, as in, in your way. But, you don't have to look down at the handlebar in order to see the GPS. If you decide to hook it up the way I did, its only about a 30 minute task. Much better than having the cord routed to your existing cig lighter on the left side of the fairing. (The plug will also hit your gas tank when your forks are locked)

Hope this helps!

+1 on the ram mount
suction cup works on the windshield but it shakes so much you can read it when your stoped or going slow
