This is a dealer issue....the factory gives the dealers that represent them great latitude in what they can and can't do. The dealer is the "bad guy" here. The factory will however generally back the dealers decision. As a former warranty auditor for the manufacturer here, I have seen good dealers and bad ones.

When I bought my SG I ordered it with a Dakota Digital installed by the dealer. They ordered it and installed it for me. When I discovered that the reception sucked, I asked them if they could send the product back and reimburse me for it. They couldn't do that but they did give me the contact info for DD and DD said they would reimburse the cost of the product. When I asked the service techs if removing the outer fairing myself and installing another hidden ant (Tune Trapper - works great!) they told me it would not affect warranty at all. Maybe you should ask for written documentation that states how the antenna install would affect warranty coverage of the brackets.
Just a thought.

I would have just went to another dealer. One will tell you something completely different than another.

I worked for Delphi also and built THOUSANDS of the EFI units. You'd think Harley would at least STAND BY THIER PRODUCT let alone "scratch" your back as a supplier associate. ESPECIALLY on a cheap little bracket!! Sounds like they are learning the cut throat greedy bazturd tricks from Delphi and places such as Wal-Fart.
Greed runs this country!
