I have noticed many people having trouble with broken fairing brackets on the bat wing type fairings. I have a 2007 SG with 20,000 miles and have not had this problem. I ride the heck out of it 42 miles one way to work 5 days a week at speeds of about 85 mph. I am thinking of upgrading the factory speakers andam just wondering if some of the problems might be caused by replacing the factory speakers with speakers with very heavy magnets. Any thoughts?

 

I had stock speakers in my 03 ultra (batwing) Both sie were broke when i bought and installed HOG tunes. so when i put in the new spkrs I went for new brackets.. Whos knows how long theyll last.. but ?? HD knows of this weak area.. why dont they fix this issue ???

 

Could be... I have the Hog Tunes and have replaced my fairing brackets twice and I've got under 14,000 miles on the bike.

If the brackets were already broken prior to installing the new speakers then that tells me what I need to know. Evidently the brackets are just weak. I'll come up with a replacement while I have it apart to install new speakers.
