Ok cool. What kind of exhaust you going with??The numbers don't really mean didly anyway.Just make sure the tune is right!! What tuning device you going to use??
we are going to use the D&D bosszilla and tune it with SEPST, i think i got those initials right.
I agree with ya on the numbers thing. i know this motor is going to be strong as hell so i really dont care what the peak numbers are, unless they are way low and that would indicate something wrong. Capitol HD has a couple of great tuners on staff, they did a great job on my previous bike and I have seen the dyno sheets of a lot of high performance work come out of the shop. Nice smooth lines and afr's are always spot on. These guys are foaming at the mouth to get this thing in the booth for a final tune.
It will be a while for that. bike is not complete yet and I dont think the exhaust has even been ordered. the plan is to load a limp around map and put it on the dyno for a minute to see if it is ok to ride and then let me break it in. Wont due a complete tune for 500 miles or so. Knowing me, if I pick it up the first nice Sat morning in March, I'll have her back to the shop and on the dyno Monday
the SESPT 120 map will be way lean. the one I tuned with a bosscat performance was very very lean, the zilla will just make this even worse.
I would have them seat the rings (after they fatten the map up some) then do a complete tune. you will do more damage riding it for 500 miles untuned then you will ever do tuning it correct on the dyno.
very interested in the operational manners of the 120R. Is it choppy at idle? How easy does it handle rolling around thru town or parking lot at idle speed?
they are very well mannered when tuned correct. they actual feel much like a stock bike at parking lot speeds. the SE 266 cam that is in there dosent have huge overlap, thus making it very well mannered. until you whack it to WOT then the mannerism makes it turn to hang on mode LOL.
Congrats Whitedogg.
Heck with waiting til spring. Let them tune it and break it in on the dyno, then borrow a trailer and drive south until there is no snow. ;-)
Stroker - thanks for the tip. I have been thinking about just having them break it in on the dyno, at least that way they can control the conditions and monitor it the entire time. Plus when I pick it up I'll be ready to rock.

if they are willing to do so...I would. nice looking bike BTW.

The WhiteDog, So the season has been in full swing, Hows the 120R running? haven't heard any updates since you were here at Xmas ? Please update us... I am looking at the RoadGlide in Sedona Orange with 120R... Am told it won't give me the longevity of the 110 or the 103...
