I usually get my helmet out of the trunk and while I'm still on the right side I usually just step across the bike and sit down while I'm strapping the helmet on.

I mount from the right side. Been doing it this way as long as I can remember.

Actually I was asking everyone BUT you.

Always from the right, MUCH easier!!! Wife gets on from the left.

Bike was made for this, why else would the handle bars lock over to the left in the way of getting on/off....

Took a MSF class and HAD to get on/off from the left. Didn't much matter on those little bikes, but the Ultra right side only. To much to get hung up on if I go off over the left side, especially if the bars are locked.....

I mount from the right side about 98% of the time too. I find it easier to lift my leg over the seat and let it slide down toward the left than to lift my leg and slide it up toward the right side. To me, when I think about it, it seems like it shouldn't make much difference one way or the other but real world practice for me, and obviously for many of us, seems to indicate otherwise.

Ride Safe,

I used to get on from the left side until I added a backrest. Now it's a lot easier to slide my leg over from the right side than to try and throw my right leg over the backrest. I don't have to unlock the handlebars and turn them to get on or off. I guess it's safer too, away from traffic.

Ride safe.

From the front until I slipped and cracked the windshield. Now from the right because that's how motor officers do it. Sometimes I forget and get on from the left.
