Tony

With JUST pipes you're ok, if you did the air cleaner mod, then you need a remap

Check out the DIY section, there's lot usefull info in there.

You can also consider a TFI , easy install and set up, you can add the air cleaner then and be OK, makes a world of difference. No longer dependent on the dealer too!

You can change the pipes and not have to remap and be ok. But if you want the performance to be noticed, then you should go the extra mile and go with the Stage I breather kit and either remap or change to a performance ignition like a power commander or accell ignition. With just a pipes change, you will have the sound you are looking for, but not the performance.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

IMHO:
I am new to the Harley world and love it!

Bought a new electra glide and was disappointed in stock exhaust. Put on the required 500 miles and had a stage I air kit, Screaming Eagle slash cut exhaust and remap. What a difference!

I have been on 2 poker runs with over 100 bikes and not one had Rhineharts. Don't know about any law here.

Rode with a friend this weekend, he borrowed a Road glide with Bub Rhineharts. Rode over 250 miles with him and our mates. I must admit that the SE pipes sound much better, throaty and not so loud a bark. Open it up and wow what a sound coming out of the SE pipes.

Just my opinion

I have a 05 injected Electra Glide Classic also and have the Python Pipes - I love them - If you can get a chance to listen to them I think you might really like what you hear
