National HOG does not offer much to make it worth the cost but it allows me entrance to my local chapter and I enjoy the local events offered by the local chapter enough to justify the expense of the National membership.
Same here. We have a great local chapter and a terrific dealer/sponsor.
Mine paided off this year when I switched to At&t for cellular it gave me a 17% discount on the phone plan. And I get that discount every month. You can apply it even if your already with At&t but you need to log on to your HOG membership to sign up for it. I will be renuwing mine cause they are saving me more than I pay them especilly if I ever need a tow.
used to be, not so much anymore. I never was one for local HOG meetings or rides, and I don't wear HOG pins or patches. I'll come back if they sweeten the pot a little, but right now, there's just not enough to interest me.

+1 The savings discount on my AT&T bill pays for the annual membership, local chapter and then some. That in and of itself makes it a good deal for me.
This is the first year I ever joined a Local Chapter. Mainly because alot of the guys in the chapter are friends of mine and encouraged me to join. The Christmas Party alone, justifies the membership fee. The sponsoring dealer also offers discounts. I'm not much into the "club" thing, but I'm gonna give it a year and see where it goes.
We both are HOG members, and have gotten our money back 10 times over easy in discounts and free food from our dealer....Only club I have been a member of, and will continue....
Dealer where I bought the bike gives me 15% for X military service. I signed up for the Best Western discount through HOG but even with the discount there are a lot of better priced hotels. Never joined the local HOG chapter as I ride with the local CMA. Got towing through my insurance so I doubt I'll renew next year. $40 is a lot to pay for a map and I use the GPS anyway.
I like my local chapter good people to hang out with that's the only reason I have life membership. There are some events and pin stops nationally I like to participate with my co members.
