I have met a lot of good folk that belong to the local chapter and am considering joining for that reason. Not sure of the benefits, other than hanging out and enjoying the company of other folk that come from similar backgrounds and share many of the same interests that I do.
Im a Life Member and i ride about twice a month with my local chapter. great bunch of people, not a bunch of wanna be tuff guys. no offense to the wanna be tuff guys out there... lol
Waste of money, IMO. I was joined mainly for the roadside service.
I said "to hell" with them a couple years ago when HOG left me stranded sitting in the middle of 465 in Indianapolis. My bike broke down in the middle of the road and all I could do was stop at the center divide of a 6 lane highway. It was around noon on Saturday and I called the HOG hotline to get a tow. Sorry bastards said they couldn't get anyone out there to help me out until MONDAY! You have got to be kidding me.
That was the end of my HOG experience. They can kiss my *** after wanting to leave me sitting in the middle of a six lane highway for two days!
