Default broken exaust

I,ve had some wierd noises with my bike since new, it would raddle and peck like a loose lifter. at 80 MPH you can still hear it. Finally, another dealer agreed to take a look at it to see if anything was wrong. Finally, They found the exaust system was broke. not just one piece, BUT, the rearpipe was loose at the head, cracked at the Y , mounting bracket broke, mount broke, heat shield bracket broke. The bike is 4 mo. old with 5k. in it, in 1 month, the rest of the time it,s been in the shop for repairs. And you guys bitch about a simple batwing bracket broke??? They still haven,t fixed the winney, no noisey tranny in 2,3,4,gear. this winters project.. more to come...

Ya know. Mo 06 RK Custom always sounded like it had more noise in it that I thought it should.

I noticed that there was a bracket for the rear pipe broken, (it was laying on the tranny)

Maybe I should call the dealer. Thanks for the post

Tim

I didn,t have the noise at first but the more I ride, the noiser it got, The dealer said they have never seen an exaust system cracked in so many places. I was wondering are the bikes shipped from the factory with the exaust system installed, or is that the dealers job to do it? I,m trying to find an answer. Did someone install it in a bind, or was the bike dropped, to cause it to do that?

Check your motor mounts, especially the front one. That can be a factor in the exhaust issue. Marvelous quality on these legendary machines, eh? I have had mine in the shop 6 times total of two months layup time, and it is in the shop again. I don't have a bike, I have a problem child.
