Sony MEX - 1GP installed
Well it's done. The wife isn't happy with the $$ but it's done.
I had grown very tired of trying to keep my XM Roady XT in its cradle.
So I decided to install an after market radio that would be XM ready AND I could still use my handlebar controls.
Installed last night and rode into work this morning. Sounds great. I have HogTunes speakers. I am going to investigate whether I can get better/louder sound by matching the stereos impedance. Stereo is 4 Ohms and HogTunes are 5.75 Ohms.
No doubt this setup could benefit from a small amp. But until then…
Here is the setup:
259.00 - Sony MEX-1GP – XM ready and has 1gb of mp3 storage on the detachable face.
239.95 – Hawg-Wired Harley to Sony install kit. This comes with cradle, bezel and the controller that allows for handlebar controls. Great guys!
44.99 – XM Direct Sony adapter.
34.99 – XM Direct Universal Tuner
