Guys,
Im looking to get a new seat for my streetglide. The stock one makes me sit too high.
I did some mods to it but still not enought.
Can you give me some advice about wich seat to get? Im looking for a two-up seat that can sit me BACKWARDS AND DOWN ,i heard about lepera or maybe hd tallboy seat but, i still dont know what to do,....
Thank you for your help!!!!
Happy new year and plenty of good miles for you all!!
I have a new HD "LOW PROFILE " SEat drops you 1" , seat is NEW just out of box. I bought something that is thin by the inside of your legs. ? Interested ?
I just saw it in the HD webpage.Ill go and check it out in person from my dealer cuz i cannot apreciate it well in the pics.
Ill pm you telling you what i decided.Thank you very much.
Do you think this seat is thinner than the SidekickŽ Seat?
if you already have a streetglide seat, you are kind of back and down already ( about 1.5" down and back from a stock ultra/classic seat), there are seats that will move you back still, but they are solo seats---and with less height is less padding, so not great for much saddletime.
also a drop seat can result in poor knee, ankle angle so control is reduced, at a stop instead on putting your foot down, your are lifting your leg and rotating to the side to get your foot to the pavement. not a big deal but if you have had any hip problems....
there is a replacement tail section which can drop you about 3 inches. it replaces the rear frame subsection... probably run you about 3 grand
if you can do a solo seat for some of your riding, the HD Brawler is somewhat farther back and lower than the stock streetglide. here's a brawler on my '09. you can use the rear crashbar to judge seating positions in photos
Mustang makes a great lowered seat as does C&C Seats. Both are "solo" types that can be purchased with a backrest and passenger pillion. I've used both brands with great results on short and long rides. Never could find any HD seat worth risking my dollars on.
