Actually "Black Chrome" has been out for a while. Not really new..
To my recollection it has been out since the mid 90's.

Those look great, a little darker than I am thinking, but not too much so, might have to look into that too. . . .

Do a search on Lifetime Coatings, then look at their Black Ti stuff.
That's where I sent my trees.
It's still somewhat opaque, meaning you can barely see the chrome behind the black.
It's not really all that dark.

Been out since the 60s that I know of. Probably longer.
Black chrome plating on firearms was very popular in the 1960s. Black chrome is an electroplate not a paint.
