Default winter maintance and rims

I have an 09 streetglide and i just put the true duals on and it sounds great now,my question is I have heard that I should put some trans fluid in the cylinder heads during the winter to keep them nice for the spring but i like to start mine from time to time during the winter just to keep things moving. I have never heard of doing that so not sure of that and I am also looking to replace the rims and looked at the harley agitator wheels and they look nice does anyone have them and do u like them and can u send me pics please, I was also looking at pm rims but a little pricey right now so any info on these questions would be appreciated thanks D

If you are going to start your bike from time to time, don't put anything in the cylinders. If you do want to fog the cylinders, go to a marine supply and buy fogging oil. Just add stabil to your fuel and you should be fine. I usually change my fluids before storage cause I don't want any contaminants sitting in my engine or tranny.
I had PM wheels on my old Fatboy, tooooo much $$$$$. I went HD Roulettes this time. Less than half the price, but they're not forged.

I would not put trans fluid in the cylinders, unless the motor is already locked up.
Fresh change on the engine oil and filter before storage (especially if it is close to being due). That way the dirt and contamination in the oil doesn't settle in the bottom of the engine.
Fogging oil is the right product for the cylinders. I would only use it if the bike is going to be in storage for a long time (a year or more).
Full tank of gas to minimize air (and moisture) in the tank. Add Fuel stabilizer (Stabil or SeaFoam) to your gas and run it for a few minutes.
Plug in a battery tender.
Cover with cotton bed sheets if you want to keep the dust off. Make sure there is plenty of air flow around the bike no matter which cover you use.

Starting it and letting it idle for a few minutes through out winter promotes mixing condensation with the oil. Oil pressure is very low at idle, not a good thing.
Only start the bike if your going to run it up to full temperature, for me that means about a 20 mile ride.
If you want to spend some time with your bike over winter, clean it, check it over or add accessories. You should be ready to go in spring.
