Here's another vote for Corbin. They have basketweave and other textures. I've had great service from the seats they've made for me over the years. And Mike's a great guy, too.
Recently picked up a Mustang Dual Tour seat with rider backrest and matching pillion pad. So far, the seat has been GREAT. Fit and finish are good, my butt is MUCH happier and it looks good on the bike....
I am getting a 99 UC and it has a HD seat that is smaller in the rear. I am more than likely going to get a stock seat for it for my wife. Will they interchange? If so, after I get a picture of it, would you be interested in tradeing?
I have a 06 RK Classic also, and I have a solo sundowner on the bike. The seat is comfortable but it did move me forward compared to the orginal seat. I'm about 5'10" and it's OK, but Ireally would like to move back a little. For the price the sundowner solo id a great deal. If money was no object, go look at the Corbin. I stopped in the Corbin store in Daytona Fla. during bike week and they are very helpful.
Are the Corbins only made in California? It would be to long a trip for a custom fit for me because I live on the Gulf Coast. Do they make them In daytona?
BADX is currently working on my stock solo seat also. I can not wait to get it back, try it on, and let you good folks know how it turns out. I'm from the "cheap Bastard" family and was pretty much happy with my stock setup, it was already comfortable to me but just needed to be tweaked some.. But BADX's price canât be beat..And I hear nothing but good things about his work. Sounded like a win-win to me..
Rainy and dreary today but Braveheart_88 brought his dads RK over for some more seat mod work. He wanted to go as low as possable and he also has put on Hard Bags and the seat was rubbing them a little. So I took out as much as I could and make it as comfortable as possible which I did, and i also thinned out the sides where his legs go down to reach the ground better also, I took some off the seat pan in that area also since there is a flange sticking out there. To get the bags from rubbing the seat I just pulled the cover tighter in that area and fixed that problem also. Since it wasn't the best weather outside I took the pictures inside and they turned out okay so without further a-do here they are.
