[QUOTE=IndyClassic;7752098]Mother Road HD? You will only be about 10 miles from us. I am going into the office tomorrow AM for a few hours, I might get out for a short hop and stop by there on the way back. Planning a longer day Sunday.
I am surprised Henderson did not deal. Never tried them for any service (actually never take the bike in any dealer) but Henderson always has some good sales on merchandise so I assumed they would be competitive in service.
I have found henderson to be the most expensive when it comes to service. I do every other service at mother road, its a nice ride and the price is right. Basically the dealer does every 10k for me.this time my wife and kids are following in the car, we'll grab some food and see a movie since its a long job.
If you like BBQ, have you tried Rednecks BBQ on Beale St? Nice family place, locally owned and best BBQ I have found out here in the west. Not Memphis grade but pretty darn good. I've put bars on my 08 and the wife's 07 now. Wish I had known sooner would offer to put them on for you here. Just bring the BBQ! The only things I won't tackle is tuning the ECM and tire changes. LOL
Kingman theater is an OK place to watch a movie. We make the drive over to the AVI normally which is never busy and has the reclining seats. Just ignore the casino temptation.
Hope you like the Heritage bars, never used them but have seen a lot of guys who do and love them.
If the reach bars are the HD 2" pullback bars, they are awful. Like riding a wheelbarrow. Some like it, most don't.
Before they mount them, grab them in your hands and make sure you like the wrist angle.
Take the time to look at the Kromewerks +2 sweepers or Wild1 WO575's before plucking down the cash on the pullback bars.
Might save yourself some time and money. Just sayin.
lp
They may be awful to you but I prefer them over the +2 sweepers which I couldn't get used to. You know, that's why we have so many choices!
UPDATE:
First; let me say that the crew at Mother Road HD in Kingman is great; they are always really nice and they do a good job at what I consider a fair price. If your in the area I'd recommend them. Too often all we hear about dealers is the bad so a good review is nice once in a while.
Okay; so here's the update: I had the bars put on this morning and just got back home (it's about a two hour ride back to Vegas). They are quite a bit higher than the stock bars and they do give me a better reach but because they're higher they feel weird to me. The wrist angle that so many people talked about doesn't seem to be an issue; it could be better but it's fairly close to stock and it will work. A lot of people have mentioned that they are a bit narrow but honestly they feel wider to me; the specs say otherwise but that's the way they feel. I'm still not sure about them but my back didn't hurt after/during the ride so I'll continue to ride and evaluate.
IndyClassic; BBQ sounds awesome; I should have taken you up on it!
So its been over a year now, what is your current opinion ?
I'm 5'9, 32" inseam - I reach the ground ok but find I'm reaching far too much for the bars, I don't have the arm-span to go side to side turns without killing my back.
I'll like do the 'super reduced reach' seat which should move me 2.5" forward, as well as make me a tad more solid on the footing with a lower and narrower seat.
I may still need/want to do the bars as the stock angle bothers my wrists some (and I'm decrepit enough already)
Oh, this'd be for an ultra classic

So, I've only had my bars for a day, not a year so I'm not sure where the year came from but I think they'll work. As far as you putting on a Reach or Super Reduced Reach i'd caution you. I tried a Reach when I first got my Ultra (09) and the seat will push you against the tank and lock you in place. Not comfortable at all. I am about the same height as you but my inseam is about 30". I wound up purchasing a new 2010 "low" seat that worked fine (the 09 seats were wider and higher). For a little more comfort I sent the seat to mean city cycles www.meancitycycles.com and they hooked it up with really comfortable foam. They can adjust your riding position as well in almost any direction you need to go. As far as bars go, I went with the harley bars mostly out of convenience, the WO575's do look like really nice bars so if I were you I'd take a look at those.
Well if the Heritage bars don't quite do it for you after several months, give me a call before the "next" set.
I know the WO518's on my bike took about 3-4 months before they felt right, 2 years later I have no desire to change at all. When I put 508's on the wife's bike they felt great right away...go figure. But we have RKC's.
I have about 5000 miles on my HD touring pullbacks 2". I like them they made the handling of the bike way better...I got them for $45 and instaslled them myself in about 3 hours...that includes break and a beer...was a bit frustrating because i didn;t remove the inner fairing but wiggled in there finally...Worth it... The big plus is i didn't have to change any cables...i may do something higher later but for now i am very satisfied.

Welcome to the forum! Might stop by your local dealer.........I know a lot of them have "fit shops" now. Find the type you like but come back on here and do a search before springing for the switch.
Bars have to be one of the most changed parts we as owners make and the options are all over the place!
