Default Riding the RK shieldless?

Just curious as to how many RK owners here take the windshield off for 'round town riding?

I have quite often. Part of the reason I love the RK.

ALWAYS! I use the shield a lot town to town and most long trips. However, a trip without the shield is the best. Like it is a whole different bike. I will be honest....since the ape hangers.....shieldless isn't so great over 60. I kind of feel like a kite But around town (<50) is the bomb

Mine is almost never on the bike unless it's colder than high 30's or the GF wants to go someplace with with me. When I bought mine I left my truck at the dealer lot for several days, and the windshield was in the backseat.

Had a difficult time deciding between the Road King and Street Glide with the windshield issue. With the windshield off, the Road King is the best looking bike HD has (IMO) but I just can't go back to a bike w/o a fairing after riding so many years w/one. I would always have to have the plastic shield in place so why not just go Glide?

During July and August, I frequently strip the bike down and run with no windshield or fairing. It's good to get a little breeze at times.

when i only had a tall or king shield, i took it off all the time, unless i was on the highway. when i got a shorty windshield, i leave that on all the time, and would put the tall one back on for road trips. now i have a dedicated tourer, with a fairing, the shorty screen stays on my round town road king, and i dont even remember where my tall one is..... the tall one got right in my way. i am 6 ft 1 in tall, and it would either be just too tall, or just too short, to have a clear field of view. but, i also run 20 inch apes on my around towner, so no windshield does kinda suck.... i like the small one, just to break the impact of the wind on my torso as i haul butt through town. just me though.

Most of the time I leave the shield on (it's a short, tinted LRS).

But that's a nice part of owning a King... it comes off in a second.
