Really made my V&H Ovals growl!!!! Gave it a really nice jump at the mid-top end. I ride mainly solo but the wife gets on once in awhile. We tow a trailer once in awhile as well to rallys. I used the stock pushrods for I did not want the headache of the adj. if I did not need them for I pulled the rocker boxes off. Not a problem. My .02 cents.
I concur. I stayed with the stock pushrods. I want ZERO, NADA, ZILCH chance of a pushrod ever going into self-adjusting mode. Pulling the tank and rocker covers really isn't hard at all. Draining fuel is the most pain. You save some $$ this way and get a look at the top end while you're there.

Going up to 95" and doing the full hydraulic cam plate with Andrews 21 cams was the best mod I made to the bike. It will keep up with the 96 inchers no problem. Doing the work myself was a wonderful learning experience and technically not all that tough. Even this caveman can do it.

Is this a good set up? I know cam choices are crazy confusing. I want a bolt on, I don't want anything that will require compression mods.

Will the cams change the sound of the bike? How much of a gain shoudl I expect?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Haven't read all responses, so if this one has been mentioned I apologize...

I was considering SE203/SE204, and the good folks at my dealership talked me into SE211, because the 203/204 wasn't a big difference from stock in my 05 RK, and better for 2 up riding. I heeded their advice, and could not be happier. From about 1750 to 4300 RPM my bike pulls like a freight train. It's better for 1 up riding though, I was told, and have found to be true. They did change the sound....louder (deeper and more throaty), and there's more lope.
I have a friend that has the SE204 in his 05 RK, and he's very happy. So you can make go in any direction and probably be very happy.
FYI - Went with adjustable pushrods. Have stock header, Rinehart S/O's, stge 1, PCIII all on 88cu.

I have the 203's. Added a Thunderheader @ the same time so I don't know which made the most diff.

They're a mild cam, probl the equiv of an RV cam in a small block.
It runs strong and it lopes at idle(Slightly) instead of the air compressor
idle.

Honestly, I think the TH made a big diff.
On that note, this work was done by HP Expr in Campbell Ca (I forget my dyno #'s - 79/86 *maybe*) but at 9500 mi, my tensioner shoes were 1/3 worn. SO BEWARE !! I'd say 30K max on those. Junky design (99's & 00's were the worst !!!) They shoulda stuck w/gears!!!
I guess that new 96 up setup works good. Probl 10,000 opinions on that vs geardrive. Crank runout isn't supposed to be an issue on 99-02's. Different crank & brgs after that . . . right?
