Yep, as soon as you roll on the throttle at all or start releasing the clutch the rear cylinder comes back online, it transitions really nicely to 2 cylinders again.

Correct, however I have tried and the light will change from green to red and vise versa even with the engine running.

The proper procedure is....

Turn ignition to the on position and push the engine off/run switch to run position (do not start the engine)

Push the throttle to roll-off and hold

After 3 sec cruise indicator lamp will flash green enabled or red disabled

(Sorry if my first post sounded firm, was not my intention. My grammar sucks. )

no problem....I am trying to be more specific when I ask trouble-shooting questions, as I know a missed word here and there changes the context.

Good to know you can change it will it is running.
a friend of mine and I were trying to think of reasons leaving it enabled could be a problem....only thing I could think of was some sort of failure where the rear cylinder couldn't come back on. otherwise, I couldn't think of any mechanical reason for not leaving it enabled.

thanks ya all.

I'm not positive you can enable and disable when the engine running just know the light changes color when I try. I never allow my engine to heat up to activate the system, if I get stuck at a light or whatever I turn the engine off.

If it is disabled you can enable it during a ride for that ride. It then reverts to the original setting when the ignition is shut off.
Conversley, if it is enabled it can be temporarily disabled but will still revert to the set condition when restarted.
Set it how you want it with the engine off and you won't have to worry about it.

your 07 is different. rolling the throttle is a function of the throttle by wire. you still have cables, so you don't get that.

you could have had the dealer flash the ecm to enable it, and if you chose, flash it again to disable it. once, under warranty. but thats a little too late now.

I do believe that it is only on the 08's and up. The 08's have to be turned on by the dealer. They did one free turn on. You would have to pay to have it turned off. My 08 has it turned on and it does come on once or twice in the summer. The 09's and up you can control it by rolling the trottle forward like the OP said.

Guess I have to check and see what mine is set for. Can you tell a difference in the way its running when it drops out the rear? More shaking, noise change???
