I just purchased an 06 Road Glide and it has the tall clear screen on it. I'm thinking about the 6 or 8 inch dark screen. Anyone have any opinions on these? Damn I guess I still need to change my picture!!
i'd stay away from the 6. it really doesn't do anything for you except direct the wind right up into your face. when i rode my bike home from the dealer, i couldn't even hear the radio over 35 mph.
i now have the 12 inch windsplitter. i like it fine, but i'm shorter than your average bear so it works okay for me. if you're taller, you might not care for it.

Assuming you want some real wind protection, and assuming you want to look over the screen while riding, I would say take a look at the WindVest 10" or 12" depending upon your height.
Be careful about going with one "too short", you may get a lot of buffeting. Short ones look the best, but don't provide much wind protection. Just my 2 cents......
if you're used to riding with no windshield the 6" might work OK for you... its long on looks but almost non existent in wind blockage. I really like the look of short shields on the RG, I started with a 6" shield but eventually worked my way up to a 14" Euro TRSSC from Cee Bailey before I found one that performed like I wanted on highway trips... for me its a tradeoff between looks and performance, but YMMV.
I wasn't long in swapping out the factory picture window on my '08.
I bought a dark-smoked 6" off evil-bay....really liked the bitchin' low
profile looks, but wind noise was almost unbearable combined with the pounding
my head, neck, and chest took on long rides....
Next I bought a dark-smoked 10" from the same place....its low enough to compliment the sleek look I want. I can easily see over it yet most all the wind is directed up and over my big melon....The wind noise and buffeting is almost non-existent, as we can talk to each other if we want and can easily hear the tunes at highway speeds.
Best of luck finding the optimal shield of your likings....
Like others have said. The short ones look great, and are ok up to 55-60mph for me. But If Im going to roll for any real distance at 70-75mph its punishing then. They switch quickly enough though. 6" chopped for local riding, and factory shield for long distance.

Thanks for the input, I'm use to riding with no windshield. I want to be able to see over it, so I'm thinking between 8-12 ince screen. I'm 6 foot tall and that should work.
I'm 5' 11" and I look over the stock 16" shield by 1.5". I'm thinking about going to the 19" to get away from the buffeting. Its not real bad but just enough that it bugs me. Good luck!
