I had heated grips on a rental. They were awesome.

I'm debating, as I want to keep the Aileron Grips... But they do make 'em heated. There was apparently a lot of failures earlier on, but I'm guessing the MoCo fixed the issues.

I'm saving for an engine u/g. Grips are #2...

Not sure why they are called "Hippo Hands" -- look more like Walrus Hands or Flippers to me. But they do look warm ...

I have both heated grips and Gerbings heated gloves. The heated grips keep my hands warm enough into the 40's. When it gets to the 30's I need to wear the heated gloves.

I have them on my '10 Limited, I am able to wear thinner gloves as others have noted.

Love em! As noted, with my carpal issues in both hands, they are mighty handy when it gets nippy here. Summertime I use the cruise control and rotate hands on the handlebars...

I definately want heated grips for the RGC that I'm picking up in a few weeks, as heated gloves don't work for me. Its cold in Colorado. I had my hart set on the black/chrome HD heated grips, but heard about so many HD owners saying that their HD grips stopped working. Many recommended Heat Demons instead. I'm still not sure which route I want to go, as I'm wondering if HD has fixed the problem with thier heated grips...???

I want to keep an eye on this as I have been asking this same question.

I do not like thick gloves so it has to be the grips. I have been told that Harley has fixed the performance issues with the grips but I want to what happened to all the old stock that had the failure problems?

The advantage of the heat demons are you can use WHATever grip you want and you can change the grips whenever you want. I am leaning toward the Heat Demons. They cost half what the heated grips are. AND I can keep my grips.

HD did make a change to the heated grips about 2 years ago and the dealers that did not recommend them before now say they have not had any problems with the new grips.

HEAT DEMONS
I have the Heat Demons on my ATV for snow plowing and they are a good product. The wife has the Heat Demon heated gear controller and the heated vest on her HD and it looks like a factory install, VERY NICE. She was not able to use the Heat Demon grips due to the bars she has so, she had to use the HD heated grips and she loves them, no problems at all. If you like a certain style of grip I would recommend the Heat Demons so you can use any style grip.

You bring up good point. Could you explain what it was about her bars that prevented using the heat demons?

Put them on you won't be disappointed. I do love mine work great with thin gloves but when it is real cold you will need heated cloves. I am on the look for some nice cloves with insulation only on the back side of the hands this would be great combo. May have to just carve up a pari to get what I want. If you have any insulation on your palms of your hands you really do not feel much of anything. If you ever have a problem and they fail check the right grip pull the end cap and there is a two prong plug in that comes out sometimes seems to be the only failure I have had.
