Not so sure about MoCo fixing the grips problems, my 09 Ultra is on its third set.........needless to say I like having them. Also lucky I stabbed the extended service plan when I bought

i had them on my 07 ultra, have them on the 06 sportster and the 09 ultra. friend put them on the 10 road kind.

friend took a trip out west and hit some 30 degree mornings - he really liked them.

pros:
- always have em along. never can tell when the temp will change and your hands will be just a little uncomfortable. switch em on and you are good to go.
- adjustable
- no wires to deal with
- can wear lighter gloves

cons:
- below 30 are less effective
- top of hands and finger tips can get cold
- the thicker the glove, the less heat that gets to the hand

above pros and cons are not a complete list

overall i am glad i have them and would get them again.

if i could only afford one then i would have to ask myself some of the following
- could i use the heated gloves for something else, like snowmobiling, etc. if so, that would be a plus for the gloves.
- how often and for how long will i be riding under 30 degrees. if often and for long periods, another plus for the gloves
- most riding would be 40 degrees and above, i would prefer the heated grips

I've installed them. They are nice on cool evenings with my regular summer gloves but when it starts to get cold (below 50F) still wish I had of gone with the Gerbings G5's instead. I paid $70 for my heated grip kit (Oxford). It is good quality kit and easy to install yourself but if you are going to have the dealer install the grips, gloves start to look like a way better and cheaper alternative. I'll probably end up with both.

Default heated grips

I loved my grips while they worked. They come with 24 month warranty, and after 27 months mine quit. turns out the controller grip with the thero on it went bad and HD wants 165 to replace just the left grip. When I took the grip off to see if there was anything in my means to repair (after i found the warranty was no longer in effect) I found water intrusion into the thermostat housing part of the grip and it was all ate up with corrosion. I could only atribute that to washes and riding int he rain. I will stick to my heated non harley gloves. At least when they get wet they still work. Good luck.

I loved my grips, but they crapped out after 13 months. H-D says they fixed the problem, but I am a little gun shy about shelling out another $250, only to have them crap out again.

Now, I wear gauntlet, gauntlet with liners, lined gauntlet, and lined gauntlet with hand warmers placed on the back of the hands, depending on the weather. Works great for me.

Now I have to find a nicer pair of grips for the bike.

I had them on the old bike and loved them. On my old bike, without a fairing, I could ride down into the 30's with mid-weight gloves (as thick a glove as I can stand to wear when trying to operate a clutch).

Although I bought my SG and put it directly into storage, I have already gotten Heat Demons to the shop to have them installed.

Hubby likes his HD heated grips. They did crap out on him and he had to have them replaced ($$$).

The OEM heated grips work great, they're very warm. Two years so far, no reliability issues.
