Guys I have done a search and did not find what I am looking for so lets see what I can get from you all. I have an 07 SG, factory shocks, factory tire size, etc. I have added a tour pack because the wife rides with me. I am looking at adding 4" extended bags to the bike. I want the look and the added space, although I know the added space is not all that much. So my question is with tour pack, wife, shocks aired up, luggage on rack, do you think I will be grinding the ext. bags. I would like to hear from you guys about being loaded for a trip and how things have worked for you.
I dont ride with an attitude (not that aggressive) have never scraped floorboards. I know I can add skid plates just trying to weigh all pro's and con's.
Just hate to spend all that money and grind the **** out of them all the time.
I took at trip to Vegas this summer, I have extended bags, lowered air shocks with no air, tour pack, and loaded with tools and gear. I was solo, but did not scrape once. (not bike in picture)
I think you will scrape sometimes. i have the 4" aswell and my ultra is 1" taller and i have scraped a few times and i do not ride hard. I mainly scrape coming in and out of driveways and anywhere there is a low curb going in and out of business's the skid plates help a lot just watch what your doing and you should be fine with them. enjoy
