Will be getting my new bike in another month, the seat seems a little hard to me. Dealer told me to ride it for a while to break in the seat. Im thinking of putting a gel pack in the seat or buying a touring seat. Anyone have any suggestions or comments. Does anyone have the reach touring seat and how is it?
I have a RKCustom and I believe the two bikes have basically the same seat with different stitching. On longer rides I found that the seat was lacking in comfort. Switched to a Sundowner.
I personally have tried the HD Reach Seat and the Sundowner Solo seat, neither of which worked for me. I currently am running a C&C Sport Tour seat on my Street Glide which I like a lot. It's a little softer than a Corbin but firmer than the Sundowner. Can't beat the price either. I believe thier web site is www.ccseats.com
I have over 3k miles on my stock Street Glide seat and really don't have a problem with it. Did several all day rides with it with only very mild butt burn. I'm still considering a new seat just for added comfort. Might go with either the Mustan Daytripper or Sport Touring. I'm leary about the Sport Touring because I don't want anything that moves me closer and I have read mixed reviews on that subject.
I got a Ultra, soft cushie seat was the most uncomfortable thing I ever sat on. Switch to a stock FLHX seat for looks mostly and cause I knew it couldn't be any less comfy than my original. Yes its harder and it seems wider and flatter to me as well but compared to the stock FLHTCUI seat its great... I can stay in the saddle much longer on the street glide seat. The rear for my girl is another matter though... she likes the wider cushier ultra sofa.

Not to go off topic here, but the C&C Sport Touring seat definitely did NOT move me closer. It's about the same position as the stock seat if not a 1/2" further back and definitely lower.
there is a guy here that puts gel packs in the seat, and it looks exactly the same only way more comfortable, so im told. Anyone out there have a gel pack installed? Its about half the price of a new seat.
I have the stock Street Glide seat but added the back rest. No complaints. Just yesterday, while on a 200 mile ride, I switched over to my buddy's R/K which has a Sundowner on it. It felt like I was sitting on a brick.
