Default cable kits vs buying individually?

Ok I got my PYO 10" monkey bagger bars and from what I have found out I need to get longer cables for my 2006 SG. Now my question is the complete cable kits I have seen cost anywhere from 320.00-460.00 but if you price out the cables individually from a company like magnum you can get all sterling chromite cables and upper brake lines for 250.00 so what else is in the kits that make them so much more?

Could it be that the complete set includes the piece (don't know what its called) that joins the line from the master cylinder and splits them to go to each caliper and lines priced individually does not?

Just did my bars and after reading what everone else spent I was floored. I spent $70.00 on Santee 11in black bars. $30.00 on a 6+ drag clutch cable. and $80.00 on a 6+ drag brake line do the math. I did all the homework and checked for the best prices on line. People spend upward of $500.00 so they must either have the money to **** away or don't do the homework. For 10's I would almost bet you don't need to change anything unless you wanted to. JMO.

I think your best bet is the Sterling Chromite's. Call them or your installer and ask them what parts are needed for your installation besides the cables. You may need the block that goes under the triple trees. I got the Yaffe supersize kit with mine and I'm not impressed, I wish I had gone with the Sterling Chromite lines. With Yaffe's kit I did get some wire extensions (just plain wire, with no ends), bottle of transmission fluid and gasket. Some on here have said they tried using the stock lines but have had problems especially with the clutch cable when you turn the bars full in either direction. I'd play it safe and get the longer lines.

Yes when it comes to the Yaffe supersize kit I too have heard the cables are Chinese junk. When I called Yaffe's they really pushed the 463.00 supersize kit telling me I had to change all cables and brake lines for my 2006 SG. Thanks to HD forums I have met three people that have only needed to change their clutch line. I don't want to take any chances so I am going + 4 on everything which according to my measurement that should be plenty. When I priced clutch, throttle and Idle cables and upper brake lines the Sterling Chromite's all together where only 250.00 I just didn't understand if there was something I was missing to justify the 213.00 more that yaffe and other comparable kits want.

I wouldn't say the brake lines are junk, just adifferent type of tubing than what most of us are used to seeing. Several companies (Russell Brakes etc.) sell this type of kit because you can buy in bulk and cut the lengths you need and use compression fittings. As stated before if I could go back I would buy the Sterling Chromites for mine. I don't think you can go wrong with those.
