I got a call from my insurance company yesterday (GMAC) and the lady said that GMAC had some additional discounts available and I may qualify. I had just received my premium this week. Since they was about the best price I found in 8 yrs. I didn't think much about it. She asked me if I had an engine guard and bag guards, which I do. Then she called me back today and said it reduced my insurance from $638 to $468. WTF! For an engine guard? Sounds funny but nobody was lower than more than $15-$20. I'll take it though!

That's great. Do they know you have ABS? This should also qualify for a discount,, more than bag guards, IMO.
I also have a 2001 Honda Shadow 1100. My old bike before buying the Limited last June. Called my insurance, Progressive, and the Harley added a good bit. Then I asked how much less if I sold the Honda. $5 a YEAR difference. I asked why? He said you can only ride one at a time and the Honda is a 2001 and even though it is full coverage it is not worth nearly as much as the 2010 Harley. The Honda was $240 but the multiple bike discount was $235. Go figure. Both together are $578. I am going to call GMAC though. That price the OP has is a $100 less. Worth a call to see what they can do in my area.

Yea, in NC if you live in Mecklenburg county you get the privlige of paying the highest in the state. I had told them about the ABS when I got it in July, maybe they did not put that on and were using engine guard to not have to reinburse me 7 months of overcharge.
Wow, we are paying $384 a year for Full coverage on a brand new Ultra with $3000 in additional accessory coverage. ABS, and I think I got 20% off for taking a Rider's Edge course thru Harley, and HOG paid for half, so it was only like $50. Going to take another in a couple months for the same $50 deal thru HOG. They pay the other half. They will do that once a year, and your insurance company should offer a discount with it. Might be something to look into.....I have saved more than the class cost, and it was kinda fun. Rode a goofy little Buell 650 I think it was....This next one will be on our bike.
