Have you not seen the fairing mount for batwing bikes?
I think it's pretty slick.
I have not seen them, but really haven't looked until now. Just googled it, I did see a pic of one in the center on the dash, with a leather pouch on each side. That looked pretty cool, but I cannot find a website mentioning the hardware or where to get it. Have any websites??

The fairing mount requires you to drill two holes into the inner fairing. I could not do this, so I bought the HD handlebar mount. Works good. It blocks the view of the fuel gauge, but he GPS has fuel tank setting so its no big deal
