Definitely keep your SERT for tuning, but you’re on your own with the exhaust system selection. I do believe any 2:1 system would be better suited to your heavy touring bike. I generally avoid recommending a particular exhaust system, because the performance difference among the major mfrs 2:1s is negligible, and appearance and sound is an individual preference thing. Personally I run a Fuel Moto 2:1 with a 2010 RG/SG OEM muffler on my well tuned 88” 06 SG and I am happy with the appearance, performance, sound and cost. With your exhaust of choice and a good tune on that 96” SG, it should wake up nicely. I’m not bustin’ your grapes about the exhaust, its just a choice that really only you can make. Either way you go, it will work out good for you. Best of luck.
