FWIW, my 2 cents is your going to get what you pay for. My experience, jacket, chaps and gloves, is the discount leather stuff does not hold a candle to quality, aka pricey, items. The good stuff just works and feels better and is nowhere near as bulky. Find something you like and shop around for it.
+1, all my stuff came from Fox Creek Leather. Quality stuff, they stand behind it and made in America.
Leather jackets are just like motorcycles, you get what you pay for, and the orginal ones are the best. I have a Vanson jacket and vest I bought in 1984 that I still wear today. That said +1 for Leatherup. Good selection, service, and price.
lil joes legendary leathers...great jacket. Most here have Fox Creek, also very nice. I went with the road less travelled, love it and love the customer service I received from lil joes.
Schott's was my second choice...and may still get one in the future...just like'em, like the look and style.
BTW Both leathers are thick for riding and real show they will last a lifetime..
I have an HD FXRG jacket that lists for $650, but purchased it at a great sale at my local dealer's sale for $275 brand new; that was 4 years ago and haven't thought about another leather jacet since. So, look for sales on this and other leather jackets.

If you want the best leathers and are willing to pay, I say go with KERR, They are a bit pricy, but I bought my leather jacket in 1993 and it still looks the same, it is HEAVY DUTY, might be a little to much for the summer, but if your up north and riding at night or in the early moring it is not a bother. I Would not wear it during the day during the summer. The thing must weigh about 25 lbs. I got my vest form them as well, both products have a lifetime garuntee and they are made in the USA.
I was thinking about buying a new leather vest, and went with harley drifter, the one with the side lace ups, I could not have been more disappointed. I expected top quality and it was crap. I have seen and had some of their leather jackets and depending on what you get the price is forget about it. I paid 500 for kerr in 93 and 140 for the vest. afet years of summer sun damage I striiped the vest, only to find out from a leather guy all I need to do was get some black leather shoe cleaner and clean it, back to its original condition (the vest, jacket still pristine) and no running or fading if wet. Now I have to get the patches sewn back on, POLISH!!!!!!
KERR does one thing only; leather. I swear by them!!!
