I've got a Harley FXRG and it is the nicest jacket I've ever owned. It's about 10 years old and even better than new (nice and broken-in). It will probably last me my lifetime unless I road-rash the **** out of it.

I know they're a little expensive, but I have seen them on Craigslist for about $250 in supposedly like new condition.

I'd take a look there.

FXRG. Warm, armored, good ventilation and waterproof.

Look for CE armor in shoulders, elbows and back, a jacket without this is more fashion orientated. Also vents are nice to have. Don't overlook textile, in the $400+ range textile has similar abrasion resistance as leather but is more comfortable in the hot and cold temperature extremes and more versatile weather wise.

Had a truck hit me at 65 mph this last summer. I was wearing a mesh jacket with body armor.

I'll never own another leather jacket without body armor...it can make a big difference.

i have the FXRG jacket and gloves. few things i didnt worry about the cost when it comes to being an asphalt cowboy... jacket, gloves and helmet. 750 for the jacket, 130 gloves and 700 for the Arai helmet

had a buddy went down and skipped along the black top for 193 feet. bruised and score as heck the next day. after i saw his jacket and helmet afterwards, i dropped the money on good safety equipment. my buddy went to the hospital for a check up and was home drinking a beer two hours later. no road rash, tore his jacket and helmet up. he was wearing Kevlar jeans and chaps... says to this day worth every penny.

AOTEAOTT=All Of The Equipment All Of The Time...

Im 45, takes a long time to heal now a days

For the money, there's some good stuff at LeatherUp.

I'm not impressed at all with Fox Creek. I had a pair of chaps custom made, and they're fine. I have a $450 jacket gathering dust because their sizing is so goofy. My wife bought be a Commander II for Christmas a few years ago. After 3 exchanges, including a trip to their store, I still have a jacket that's too big for me. I don't give a crap where the damn thing's made, I'd just like for it to fit right, and for the company to stand behind it. Anyone need a 48 Tall?

I picked up an FXRG off Ebay for somewhere around $300. Hands-down the most versatile jacket I've ever owned (and somehow had a Large fit properly the first time).

I had the same problem. I went through 3 different styles in several different sizes from Fox creek. On every jacket, either the torso was way too long and it jutted up into my neck, or if the torso fit, then the sleeves were way too short.

I had this same problem with models from alpinestars, rev'it, and a few others.

Finally, I fould a jacket made by British Motorcycle Gear that fits well. Either I have an odd build, or these jackets are not made for sitting on a bike.
