I am looking to purchase a custom RK Solo Seat, my question is what mounting brackets are required to mount the Solo Seat, I presently own two 2up seats, the original and a Mustang any suggestions would be apprciated.
What year bike??..........09 up the Mustang seat just bolts on. The Corbin comes with front and rear brackets and bolts on. "pretty" sure all the otther do also.
I have a new Mustang super solo listed in the claasified forum if you are intrested.
If you have a 2003 RK, under your two-up seat should be two-threaded studs; most solo seats use those threaded studs with nuts to secure the rear of the seat and the front is secured with a slide in tab that fits in the frame cut-out.
Hey Carl Thanks,
I wasn't sure if those two bolts were used for the Solo seat, but that is what mine has, because I bought the bike used I thought they were in place for the Mustang seat the original owner put on it. I'm gonna look at a Solo Seat tomorrow, so I'll look for the brackets that should be in place for that seat.
Some solo seats (corbin, danny gray, and I believe c&c...etc) use a T-bracket that bolt to the two studs you're refering to, and extends back a few inched. The seat itself then covers the two studs.
I'm running the Sundowner Solo and it requires an additional bracket the bolts to the bottom of the seat then to the 2 bolts mentioned in the above post. The bolts have a nut towards the bottom then a notch where you would add the Sundowner pillon for your passenger. The pillon slips in and secures in the back at the rear mount point for your standard Harley 2-up seats.
Danny Gray uses a T-bracket, the bracket anchors to the two studs mentioned earlier, and has a single threaded post where you secure the tab of the solo seat to, simple on and off.

That's the set up on my Danny Gray Speed Cradle solo.
