Default 88 to 103

I see SE 103 Kits on ebay for 389.00 and up. It says they are for 07's with the 96" engine. I wonder what it would take to install one on a 05 with a 88" motor.

The 4 3/8" stroker crank, the 88 Motor has a 4" stroke. Splitting the cases makes this a much more labor intensive project.

Said another way, the 96 to 103 kits are the same thing as the 88 to 95 kits; the difference is that the 96 comes with a 4 3/8" crank, while the 88 has a 4" crank. If you want to change your 88 to a 103, you'd need to change out the crank from your current 4" crank to the 4 3/8" crank.

The largest you can go on your 88" motor without splitting your cases is a 98" big bore kit. That would be pistons and cylinders. Just like going to a 107" on a 96" stroker motor.

If I was going to split the cases for a stroker kit, I'd spend the extra dime to bore the cases for larger cylinders and take it up to 107" or more.

And if I remember reading right, don't you also have to replace the alternator if you stroke an 88?
