Default E3 vs American Elite

Does anyone have enough miles on the American Elite to be able to compare it to the E3? Which is best?

i have no experience with the american elite, but i do have experience with the E3, and my experience with the e-3 has been beyond my expectations. i'm really sold with the elite 3 tire. someone will likely chime in on the american elite.

Bump to the top. I am curious about this as well. If you do use the E3, what tire size are you using? Bias-ply or radial?

Thanks

I've had E-III's for about 5000 miles.
Sure are several steps above 402's or ME-880's!!!
Don't know yet about wear, but they sure stick like glue to the road.
Great on rain grooves also.
I'm running a MT-90-16 on the front and a MU-90-16 on the rear.

Not yet. My American Elite is sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. I'm interested in the responses you'll get.

I know for my Electra Glide the E 3 is the best tire I have seen for wear and good handling. No comparison to anything else I have tried.

I have American Elites on my SG, but only have about 500 miles on them so far.
But so far I really like them....handling is great and I can feel a difference in the ride compared to the stock tires.
I have no experience with the E3s to compare.

I was getting about 8k on 402s rear...

I've put about 5k on the E3 now, and tread depth looks deeper than a new 402 still. I'll be usin E3 for the rest of my forevers now...

I posted this in the tire forum a few weeks ago,,,,,,,
I just wanted to say "WOW"!!!
My bike has always felt loose. ('03 FLHTCI w/ 10k miles) When it was on Doc's dyno he even felt it, and made comments to the effect of the swing arm bushings might be toast.
I had new wheels (17" Road Winder in front and 16" Road Winder in the rear) and tires ( Dunlop E3'S) ready to go on but didn't want them on the dyno. So once I got the bike home and was able to get myself off of it after the dyno session, I took it apart. The swing arm bushings are fine, WTH? So I put the tires and wheels on it and it's a whole different bike. After putting a couple hundred miles on it this weekend, I was relieved!
The final test was, I have a bad gouge in the road on my way to work, looks like someone lost a wheel, been there for years. If you hit it before it had a pucker factor, I hit it this AM and it went right over it, barely even felt it. (I thought I missed it) I'm a believer, just wanted to share.
