2010 models high oil consumption?

I've got a '10 UC with 7800 miles on it and I've never had any oil lose issues. I ran the snot out of it last summer on a 5600 mile trip to Sturgis and back doing a lot of 90mph riding and it never was low on oil when I checked it. I'd agree with others here that it is probably valve seals but I would also pull the air cleaner and see if there is evidence of excessive oil being sucked into the intake system.

07 here and i think it's the same motor isn't it....Uses a smidgen ...3-5 ounces in 5000 miles if i really dog it hard in the mountains.....If i rev it really hard in the yard i can see black smoke but i think that is because i don't dog it enough....

With that much oil consumption it should be very obvious where it is going...It would either be smoking or saturating the air filter or leaking on the ground...The first thing I would look at is the spark plugs...They will tell you a lot about what is going on in the combustion chamber.

i have a 10, have over 13k miles on it. if it uses any oil, it is so little as to be unnoticeable. take it in for warranty, that doesn't seem right.
i've also not heard that the 10s had valve seal issues. heard it about the 05 models though.

I've got the 09, same motor, never added oil between 5000 mile changes, its always the same level when I check it. Never used a drop.

14k miles on mine, haven't added a drop. I've kept the level at 1/2 way between add and full. If you try to keep it at full, it's going to be inhaled through the intake via the breathers.
