I have the ones from Capt Itch, I think they are great. They do keep a lot of the heat off your leg. Easy to install, and look good too. I am happy with mine.

I iniationally put the RJOriginals on and really did'nt care for them especially after what I paid for them, then switched to the Harley ones. They work better I think and they're priced right. No problems with breaking or fading or worping of plastic.

HD here. Made a big difference. I end up downtown Indy all the time, and it's stop-go traffic for 45 minutes at a time. When it's a 100 degrees out, it makes a big difference. If you plan on not doing much city riding, no sense in having them though.

I have mine installed with an adjustable rider's backrest. Many people try for hours to get the two installed together and give up. I finally got mine to use the same bolts/holes together, so it works for me.

I installed the HD ones a couple years ago and they work well. The HD ones are the only ones that aren't really ugly.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, I'd rather have a thick piece of leather hangin' down from the seat than cooked cojones. It gets really hot here in the summer traffic.

Had the HD's on my 2008 FLHX -- Easily the best bang-for-the-buck of any 'comfort' accessory I ever put on.

Put RJ's on my 2011 FLHTC -- Very effective, very sharp - Arguably less necessary on the 2011, but my Tall Boy seat is a little more narrow in the front, so the ol' thigh can get dangerously close to some awfully hot metal... The RJ's put a quick (and stylish) end to that.
