Default Passenger Floorboards for baggers

Has anyone changed their streamline passenger pegs for floorboards. The reason I ask is I am a shorter rider. The current pegs when I am riding two up smack the back of my leg at stops, well it is more the passengers feet (maybe I need a girl with smaller feet but) If I replace them with floorboards(mainly for looks) will this interfer with the clearance that I am already stuggling with......

Yes it will. Think about it, you have a peg that is about 1.5" in diameter and you want to go with a footboard that is about 5-6" long. It is going to protrude forward even more.

I have floor boards for the rear and I am not a short rider but the footboards get in the way when backing into a parking space and what not. I'm VERY close to getting rid of them for pegs since the wife barely rides with me anyways. Like posted above if the pegs bug you, the foot boards won't be better.

I replaced my pegs with floor boards so the wife would feel more stable. I had to make a conscious effort to ensure my legs didn't smack them when coming to a stop or backing up.

Why not just put Electra Glide foot boards on her?

As stated above, the floorboards will get in the way. My wife is nice enough to pull them into the stowed position when we come up to a stop light or we are trying to park. She just rests her feet on top of them. Once we are on our way, she flips them back down. Pretty easy.

I put some UC takeoffs on a buddies Street Glide, of course his wife likes them more than the pegs.

I also switched to streamline boards for her. I miss the back pegs when riding solo.

There are quite a few vendors of after market foot pegs that include the passenger pegs. I'm not to sure it anybody grindes them down on the twisties, but just changing them out from the OEM version adds a bit of personality to the bike.
