Yep, I used the Harley fairing mount kit. I really like the placement, more in the line of sight. It also hides all the wires and makes for a very clean look.
The only drawback is that you can only use a single fairing pouch. They are hard to find, and most of them suck.

Agreed...but I decided to forgo the pouch. Didn't want my inner scratched up. Love the placement of the 550, much better than on the bars. I no longer need my reading glasses to see the damned thing lol

I also use the fairing mount for the GPS. Easy to install and it looks clean. It does limit what you can put on the dash or windshield replacement. I was looking at the LRS X-Stream, they said I would need a minimum 9 inch for the mount to work with it.

I don't have a Zumo, I have a Street Pilot. But I mounted it in the middle top of the fairing for easy read.

I have the HD mount with my 550 and it works fine. Everything is in the line-of-sight and works much better than mounts I have used in the past that place the GPS lower.
You can use the HD windshield pouches with two pockets. You just mount it more to the right as I did. No redrilling or anything, just place it to the right.
