unless you are hell bent on buying something that looks like a biker boot, consider this.... i wear merrell hiking boots, and when i get where i am going, i can walk around, and be comfortable as well. they are over the ankle protection, and water proof. and rugged as hell. i am in afghan land, and just wore them on another trip to a muddy village, and mine are 2 years old, still water proof, still gripping. no, i am not a merrell salesman, but, when it is time for new boots, i ll be buying more merrells.......

unless you are afraid of someone calling you a "poser", or a "rub" ! lol! JUST KIDDING! lol!

I've got a pair of H-D boots bought 3 yrs ago that are doing fine. I picked them up off the clearance rack for half price and they just happened to be my size and a style I wanted. They fit me well and are comfortable, but not all H-D boots are so good. I also have a pair of redwings that I got in the '90s, they are old and ugly now and the steel toe is showing through, but they are my choice around the yard work boots now. For riding, I prefer slip on boots over lace ups.

White Converse All Star basketball shoes from 1955.

Boot threads are starting to be a regular feature here. The answers are always the same. Apparently there have been no new brands introduced since the last thread.

I love my HD FXRG boots. They are stylish, comfortable (can wear them all day), functional (eg, waterproof), and the side zipper makes getting in and out of them easy and quick.

Surprised no one mentioned Doc Martens, like Red Wings it will be the last set of boot you will buy. Lot's of styles. Anyway, I like the 1460's, last forever and the sole isn't too big. I had a pair of Timberlands and the I couldn't get it under my toe shifter. I also have a pair of Shoei slip ons.
