Default Seriously thinking about flipping my Ultra

Lately I've had these fantasies in my head about trading in my 2010 Ultra on one of them new-fangled 103" 2011 Road King Classics. The Ultra is paid for, got about $1400 into it for the Fuel Moto setup including head pipe.

Always loved the look of the Road King Classic. Rented a 2009 a couple summers ago and loved the ride too.

My Mrs likes the secure feeling of the wrap-around tour-pak, I might catch some grief there, but she only goes on maybe 6 day rides and 2 overnighters per year with me on the Ultra.

Love my tunes and GPS, but dang - like the classic look of the classic.

Am I nuts?

That's why they make different models. Whatever trips your trigger.

Why not just take the tour pack off and the lowers, I know it's not a Road King but close. We both know you are going to take a big bath selling your Ultra and you will be taking money out of your pocket for the RK. My 2 cents is hold on to what you got, great bike with no payments and wait a few years for the next big change.

Good luck with either way you go.

Be Safe JIM

To make sure that I'm not just acting on impulse, I always give myself at least 3 months to make decisions like this. If, after careful thought and research during those three months, I still want to do it, then I will. I find that most of the time the desire has worn off by then and I'm glad I didn't do it. Saved myself a lot of money that way.

Thoughts like yours are why I have a 2010 Street Glide and a 2006 Street Bob. Bagger for comfort and going miles. Hot rod for trips within a couple hundred mile radius from home and goofing off on.

Best of both worlds.
