Default Other than Dunlop

There are alternative tire brands out there other than Dunlop. Avon, Bridgestone, Continental, Kenda, Metzler, Michelin, Pirelli, Shinko, Vee Rubber are included in a recent article. Anyone running others, if so what?

Been running Metzeler ME-880s. Damn good tire. I hear Avon makes a good tire but I dont have any experience with em as I have no plans to switch from the Metzelers.

I only run Avon venom x. They are a softer compound than the metzler which means better traction but fewer miles I get around 13000 on rear and 19+ on front. Being in Michigan, the softer compound also helps with traction in those cold days. I also have a fatboy lighter than an ultra but not significantly diff from a street glide if I get an ultra I will put on the me880s.

I have run Avon Venom X(Smooth quiet low miles) Elite III DUnlop (highest mileage good ride cupped a bit) Michelin Commander (smooth n quiet Little better than D402) Pirelli Night dragon (Smoothest yet but mileage not that great) Elite II (about like D402) D402 Dunlop (Average tire...got about Midrange mileage and were decent) I buy whatever i get a deal on...I currently have 3 Michelin Commanders and 1 Elite II K591 i think....Got deals...i don't like to wait until the last minute so i buy when there is a bargain.

You are welcome.

Avon got about 6000
EIII 11000
D402 8500-9000
EII 8000
Commander 9500
Current Pirelli Night Dragon 5000 and they are about done...Maybe another 1500-2000 miles...I have to say it;s the first time i put Dyna beads and it is by far the smoothest my bike has rode in 57000 miles.

Have always been a big advocate for Continental Avon or Metzelers but after running these new dunlops that came on my 2010 UC im very happy with the way they handle and wear 8000 miles and they show no visible signs of wear.

I've always had dunlops, but am putting on a continental on the rear this spring. Matches up to the Dunlop according to my wrench in tread and compound. After I wear out both tires, I intend on trying out the Metzlers. Kinda limited as I run a wide White wall.

There are motorcycle tire companies besides Dunlop? EIII's for me but this is another one of those open a can of worms subjects.
